A Monkeys who sent into space




There were several monkeys that were sent to space and died during the early stages of space exploration. One of the most well-known was a rhesus macaque named Albert II, who on June 14, 1949, became the first monkey to enter space during a sub-orbital V-2 flight but died upon impact after a parachute failure. Other monkeys that died during space missions include Albert I (died during flight in 1948), Albert III and IV (flight failures in 1949), and Gordo (died during re-entry in 1958).
