An avalanche in the French Alps has killed six people, including mountain guides. The group was on a skiing expedition when the avalanche struck on Tuesday morning in the Queyras mountains. The French Mountain Guides Association said that two guides and four of their clients were killed in the incident. The group was reportedly skiing off-piste, or away from marked slopes, when the avalanche occurred. Rescue workers were able to find and rescue two other clients who had survived the avalanche. The incident is the latest in a string of skiing and climbing accidents this winter.
